The Chainsmokers – ‘No Shade at Pitti’

More of the same and that’s just fine.

The Chainsmokers are back with their new single ‘No Shade at Pitti’ from their just-released EP No Hard Feelings. Listen, you know what you’re getting when you listen to The Chainsmokers. The beats, lyrics, and overall vibes scream 2016 on this track and frankly, that’s fine! This is another sunny song about going to a rooftop party in Brooklyn, Austin, LA, or any other major American city.

There is only so much growth that EDM will allow before an artist switches genres. From their classic song ‘Selfie’ to mainstream hits like ‘Closer’ featuring Halsey, ‘Paris’, and ‘Something Just Like This’ with Coldplay, there’s a sense of melancholy amidst the wild energy in the club. Andrew “Drew” Taggart’s voice is dripping in autotune as he glides on the beat throughout the track. The lyrics are bright and happy and the production is upbeat; this track is destined to be overplayed at your next spin class.

The Chainsmokers are remarkably consistent and they obviously know that the money in music is made in touring. They’re just releasing music every couple years to keep their names out there while they continue to spin the old hits during their tours. I can complain about the lack of artistic growth but I’ve listened to this song five times in the last hour, so whatever they’re doing is working!

Check out their fun video below. It’s exactly how you imagine it to be!
