Sailorr - Pookie’s Requiem

Sailorr’s new viral hit “Pookie’s Requiem” is closing in on six million Spotify streams, a major feat for a largely unknown R&B artist. Like most viral songs these days, the catchy part is the chorus which is instantly addictive. The lyrics are clever and with so many hooks, the song can easily be reused on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram.

While working in the confines of modern R&B, Sailorr’s voice does show signs of strength when she’s softly belting on the song. Otherwise, the song does sound pretty generic and will easily be forgotten in a couple months. At less than two minutes long, this song barely scratches the surface of who Sailorr is as an artist. Maybe that’s the point.
